“A vision, don’t we all have one?
I was exploring in my father’s library back when I was 15 years. My eyes were gazing on this strange book. I took it down from the shelf and started reading. The book showed me a new world, the world of psychology. From that day on I found the vision for my life, to make the world a better place. By this, I don’t mean a fantasy world, I’m simply dream about a world where we show compassion and tolerance, a world where we take care of each other.
Now, I’m a practicing psychologist. I have heard stories of refugee children whom had to flee from their homes, stories of depression, addictions and torture victims. I see how important it is for these people to express themselves, how important it is for them to have support, even if it’s just brought to them by a smile.
Pass on some of yourself and receive more than words can describe. One act of kindness from you may safe one person’s life today. You don’t have to do big things and you don’t have to be a psychologist. What you do have to, is to show compassion to the people around you. Let’s all make the world a better place. We can only do it together! That is my vision. “- Rawan Saleh
