Passionate. Empowering. Creative. Sarah is a writer, poet, journalist, teacher, and freelance public relations specialist residing on Tongva Land (Los Angeles, CA). As a first-generation immigrant from Jordan, she uses storytelling to disseminate her experiences in diaspora as she navigates her host country, United States. Her writing often explores the dichotomy of her motherland as it pertains to gender. She holds a Master of Arts Communication from California State University, Northridge where she focused her thesis project on de-stigmatizing the image of homeless Women and Gender-Based Violence through environmental portraits and in-depth interviews. She also holds a B.A. in Journalism, emphasis in P.R. and minor in Communication Studies. Sarah has been a Host & Dialogue Facilitator with Shams since 2020 and is based in Los Angeles, USA.
